Health and Medical Safety

Navigating the healthcare system can feel overwhelming. SOAR offers medical safety resources to reduce stress and improve outcomes.

Hospital and doctor visit supports, such as social stories and visual aids to help individuals feel prepared.

Medical Passports that provide key information about health needs, medications, and care instructions in emergencies.

Medical ID alerts, including bracelets, phone apps, or wallet cards that clearly identify conditions, allergies, or communication needs.

These resources ensure that individuals receive timely, appropriate care when it matters most.

Caregiver and Family Resources

We know that caregivers are at the heart of safety planning. That’s why SOAR provides a wide range of family-centered resources, including:

Training programs on crisis prevention, emergency planning, and alternatives to physical restraints.

Support networks that connect families with advocacy groups and peer-to-peer support systems.

Funding assistance for grants, insurance benefits, and waivers to help offset the cost of adaptive equipment or therapies.

Safety toolkits that include checklists, adaptive strategies, and planning resources.

Advocacy and Rights Education

SOAR is committed to protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities. Our resource hub includes:

Guidance on disability rights under state and federal law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Supported decision-making resources that empower individuals while respecting independence.

Legal and workplace accommodation information to ensure equal access to education and employment opportunities.

We believe that advocacy is an essential part of safety—because true safety means living without fear of discrimination or neglect.
